It’s reported that the next rendition of iOS - iOS 6 - will be replacing the current Google Maps service with a maps app developed by Apple themselves. If this is accurate, it’s likely that the maps will use C3 Technology’s 3D mapping to give it an edge over the competition. These maps use high definition aerial imagery and assign every pixel a height value to display imagery that’s realistically three dimensional and very impressive.
